Book Review – Joe R. Lansdale’s Dead in the West

61QgHT6NHVL._SX321_BO1,204,203,200_As always, Lansdale shows he is the master of every genre he takes on.  Jebediah Mercer is a main character that people will love to hate and we shake our head as we still root for him.  He’s just enough of a flawed preacher and bastard to make him the perfect anti-hero.

There are zombies here, but the mix of pulp action and the Lovecraft by way of Howard influence sets these apart from your regular fare.    This is a read-in-one-sitting novella and well worth your time.
When your done, move on to his more classic westerns like Deadwood Dick and the new Paradise Sky.
